'There was this river, big wide river, lovely water, cool and fresh and flowing. And there were all these boats, and ships, and crafts, hundreds of crafts, all painted like Indian paintings, (the ones with Shiva and Krishna etc), with bright blues and yellows, and gold and crimson.'
